There are some people who live life as if they are owed something - wishing to be served and treated as royalty. Jesus, the King of Kings, didn't set Himself on an earthly throne and command to be served, but rather came to this earth as a servant. From the time he was born in a lowly stable, His life embodied humility. Why do we feel that our calling is any different?
There are appropriate times when our needs are served, but more times than not, our lives are designed to be about serving others.
Lord, help us to learn by Your example - to serve others with a heart of humility rather than desire to be served!
